Road Trip: On the Road Again

Say goodbye to summer, hello to good memories

We hate to break it to you, but the last hurrah of summer is upon us.
 
Labor Day is in the rearview mirror. The kids are back to school and leisurely road trips with family and friends are officially over. As we usher in pumpkin spice lattes, football games and hoodies, we celebrate those care-free getaways with our last installment of Road Trip 2017.
 
In the spirit of Willie Nelson, keep on goin' places that you've never been and seein' things that you may never see again.
 
 

Howdy, Paris -- IT Financial Audit Senior Manager Lance Cook and the fam were on their way to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, for a getaway and stopped at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas. They discovered that not everything is bigger in Texas.
 

 

Spunky Supra -- Toyota Racing Development’s Craig Higa and his wife, Karen, took a road trip to Northern California in their restored 1988 Supra, making a stop at Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley. The 29-year-old Supra’s AC didn’t miss a beat, even in the 107-degree heat in Elk Grove, California.

 

 

Cross-Country Cruising -- Lillian Chang-Harmon of TMNA’s Real Estate & Facilities says her Corolla LE Eco did great trekking 5,000 miles from Texas to California. Along for the ride were her daughters Chloe and Rachel pictured at Monument Valley, Arizona.

 
 

Tundra Tour -- A trip from Plano to Yellowstone National Park was the source of many amazing views for Mark Morris of IS ERP and Indirect Procurement. This shot of his Tundra was taken on State Highway 296 near Cody, Wyoming.

 


New Heights -- Geoffrey Nafziger of Toyota Financial Services, his wife, Michelle, of the Customer Experience Center and their daughter drove their Highlander to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to visit family. While in town, they parked at the base station of the Sandia Peak Tramway and took the tram to the peak.
 

 

Outdoor Adventure -- TFS’ Angelina Neaves and her husband took their 2014 Tacoma 4x4 camping on the top of the Mogollon Rim near Payson, Arizona.
 

 

They Drove for Miles -- TMMTX’s Brad Nye loves building and driving the Tundra. It shows in his choice of family vacations. One of the stops on their 5,300-mile road trip was at a lighthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan.
 


Dog Days of Summer -- Fleet Financial Analyst Sarah Pifer snapped this photo of her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Bull, riding in the back of her 2016 Limited 4Runner on a summer road trip to Big Bend National Park.

 
 

Texas Tour -- Jake Leonetti, TMC Trainee Takao Kiguchi and Chris Carter in Project Planning & Management took their TRD Pro Tacomas out for some summertime fun in Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle.
 

 

Bold and Beautiful -- MJ Foxley, who works in Internal Strategy Advancement, traveled in an audacious Lexus RC 350 F-Sport to San Francisco to celebrate her daughter’s 15th birthday.

 
 

On Target -- Since moving to Plano, Senior Engineer David Lyons and his family have become involved with the Allen Eagles Competitive Shooting Team – his sons compete and he and his wife volunteer. This summer they road tripped to the Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championships in Marengo, Ohio.
 


Texas Transplant -- TFS’ Ryan Hines said goodbye to Torrance and hello to Plano in his new 2017 Tacoma. Time for the next chapter in Texas, y’all!
