Treating Dallas like a piece of meat at the best brisket festival around

We shot this video a few months ago, but we’ve been holding it specifically for Valentine’s Day.
 
Why?
 
Because this is a story about a love affair between a man and Texas meats. And today is the most appropriate time to show it.
 
Let’s imagine that one day a year, the top barbecue restaurants in Texas come together and offer samples of their goods to the public in a day of celebration in downtown Dallas.
 
You don’t even have to imagine. Because that’s what happened.
 
This video is awesome for two reasons. First, there’s a celebrity chef involved: Dean Fearing. The Food Network star, the godfather of Southwestern Cuisine and the owner of Fearings in downtown Dallas was nice enough to talk to us and offer some Doritos-encrusted chicken which was, obviously, incredible. Second, it features local food critic Cody Neathery, a knowledgeable fellow who is happy to bond over brisket and burnt ends.
 
The result was labored breathing, sticky hands and a newfound love of Texas.
